Essential Aspects In A Suspense Thriller Novel

By Pamela Young

Most people prefer reading a novel during their leisure time. However, there are different aspects that one needs to check when selecting one. It is important to consider these elements to ensure that it meets your expectations. Here are some critical elements to consider in a suspense thriller novel.

First, consider the complexity of the character. A suspense thriller manuscript is expected to have a complex character. A complex figure is expected to have two characters a good and a bad one. The good one is supposed to be seen throughout the plot, and the bad one should be seen during specific events. A writer can choose to hide the bad one until something influences it which can be used as a plot twist as well.

Check on the conflict in the story. A conflict is termed as the main action of a thriller. The writer should choose two or more characters to fight for a similar interest. These would probably be a villain and the good person in the book. The writer can let the villain have the upper hand in the conflict for the time being to make things interesting which in return raises the anxiety in a reader.

Take note of a twist in entire story. A twist is meant to create suspense in a story. It can be done either by introducing an unexpected character or by changing the course of the story against the reader expectations. Including a lot of twists in a novel might kill the book lovers interest in reading since it might interrupt the plot of the story. Twists should at least appear at the end of most chapters in the book.

Consider a scene that stirs the reader emotions. Introducing an emotional scene is very important to connect the book character feelings and the reader as well. This can be introduced as a scene that is creating a dangerous scene that create tension or fear into the character. The scene should relate to possible real-life situations that might happen to the book lover.

Evaluate the moral lesson of the story. Every story needs to have a moral lesson. This technique might be taken to be outdated, but some readers would prefer having it in play. Typically, every thriller has its moral lesson, but writers have preferred to leave out open for the book lovers to figure it out for themselves. Scenes that bring out justice, justice denial or helping out a society learn something new are just a few moral lessons a story writer can use.

Select your favorite genre. One can choose among different genres. This includes action, conspiracy, and thriller among others. Choose a specific sub genre that fascinates you. However, it is recommendable for a first timer to try out all these categories to determine which suits him or her best.

Acknowledge whether the novel is good by reading out its review. Manuscript reviews talk much about the suitability of a book. This can be read out in popular blogs related to this, sale reviews and from the book acknowledgment. A book with a five star rating has high chances of giving you a remarkable experience.
