How Yamaha Motorcycles Stack Up Against Other Brands From A Motorsports Dealer Riverside County

By Jay Dy

In a recent survey, Consumer Reports conducted a survey based on owner feedback which found Yamaha Motorcycles to be the most reliable brand. When the magazine asked for survey responses, 11,000 Motorsports Dealer Riverside County riders responded. Their experiences and opinions on their bikes incorporated 12,000 bikes purchased new between 2008 and 2014.

Japanese Brands are believed as the most reliable led by Yamaha. Suzuki comes second with Honda and Kawasaki following. BMW, Triumph, and Ducati led with the need for repair.

In the survey, Yamaha owners were found to have less technical difficulties with their bikes than the other owners. The least reliable motorcycle was found to be Can-Am trikes. The study showed that most Yamaha owners had a smooth first four years with their bikes.Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Honda were also ranked very highly regarding reliability. Less than 15 percent had serious technical issues in the first four years after purchase.

BMW and Ducati were found to be the least reliable. The study also revealed that 40 percent of BMWs and 33 percent of Ducatis needed repairs in their early years after purchase. On the other hand, Triumph and Harley-Davidson bikes were found to be in need of major repairs in their four years of purchase.

Branding. The unbelievable fact is that withal reliability, Yamaha will miss buyers if the current owners were to buy again. Price against experience saw European bikes beat Yamaha at their game. Motorcycle riders have a taste when it comes to branding just like car owners. That may give the reason for the shift. The industry put more emphasis on branding than any other factor like comfort and reliability.

That doesn't change the fact that Yamaha Motorcycles love their bikes and get more bang for their buck.
